Left-right movement helps express lateral load changes, steering and cornering motion cues.
BUYER GUIDE / MOTION PLATFORM CHOICE
This page answers how buyers should choose between static, 3DOF and 6DOF racing simulator platforms based on motion cues, space, power, use case and budget.
| Option | Motion axes | Main motion cues | Space requirement | Power | Best fit | Budget |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Static | 0DOF | Visuals, steering wheel, pedals and audio feedback. | Lowest among the three options. | Depends on display, PC and accessory configuration. | Entry-level experience, fixed cockpit, desk or compact driving space. | Quote by platform, motor, display, PC, accessories and installation conditions. |
| 3DOF | 3 degrees of freedom | Pitch, roll and core posture changes such as braking dive, acceleration pitch and cornering roll. | Medium; confirm footprint, movement clearance and access path. | Quote by platform and actuator configuration. | Buyers with limited budget or space who mainly need the strongest posture cues. | Quote by platform, motor, display, PC, accessories and installation conditions. |
| 6DOF | 6 degrees of freedom | Posture plus additional sway, surge and yaw motion cues. | Higher; confirm floor area, movement envelope, access path and operation clearance. | HY-K1-6001 rated power: 1.200 W. | Commercial entertainment venues, brand events and private driving spaces that need a fuller motion experience. | HY-K1-6001: Get a custom quote; final quotation depends on project configuration. |
If you need a fuller drift yaw feeling and sustained acceleration cues, 6DOF should be evaluated first; if budget and space are limited and the main goal is braking dive, acceleration pitch and cornering roll, 3DOF may already cover the most important posture cues.
Left-right movement helps express lateral load changes, steering and cornering motion cues.
Forward-backward movement helps express acceleration, braking and speed-change cues.
Yaw helps express steering direction changes, rear slip and drift direction changes.
These are physical motion cues from the platform. They are not the same as real vehicle acceleration and do not automatically mean every game or software supports every telemetry mapping.
No. 6DOF provides more motion dimensions, but the right choice depends on budget, space, power, maintenance and use case. If the main needs are braking dive, acceleration pitch and cornering roll, 3DOF may already meet the core requirement.
This guide separates the additional motion cues as sway, surge and yaw. The actual experience still depends on actuator travel, the control system and software telemetry mapping.

Shipping, customs duties, customs clearance, VAT, on-site installation/debugging and optional upgrades are not included.
Confirm the use country, venue dimensions and access path, power conditions, single or multi-unit quantity, display and driving accessory configuration, software/game licensing scope, delivery conditions and installation scope.
If you are not sure which platform level fits your project, send your country, venue, quantity and main experience goal so the configuration and quotation can be checked.
